This slouchy pocket hack is super easy to sew on the Block Party Cardigan. You can use the inseam pocket to get this slouchy, cozy look. It makes a fabulous oversized pocket. You will sew the cardigan up the same as written in the tutorial with a minor change. Follow along with the sewing instructions below to learn how.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- The Block Party Cardigan pattern: If you don’t have it, grab it here.
- Ruler
- 2 Inseam Pockets (Mirror Image)

Let’s start sewing
Cut out your front and back bodice pieces at the cardi length. Cut 2 inseam pockets, mirror image. You will only need 2 pockets total.

Topstitch close to the inner raw edge.
REPEAT with the other pocket.

Place the WRONG side of the pocket onto the RIGHT side of the front bodice piece. Align the raw edges along the bottom and sides. Baste the two sides together. You can also baste the bottom of the pocket if you’d like. This helps to hold the layers in place when you sew the side seam and the neckband onto the front of the cardigan.
REPEAT with the other pocket and front bodice piece.
Simple instructions for finishing the cardigan are below. For more detailed instructions, follow the full tutorial included with the pattern.
