Festive Friday: Relaxed Peplum and Joyful Jumper!

How adorable are these reversible Joyful Jumpers that were sewn during testing last year!

Welcome to the Mamma Can Do It Festive Friday Series Week 3!  We challenged our team to sew up some festive themed patterns for the holidays to inspire you this season.  The best thing is that each Friday leading up to Christmas one or more of these patterns will be on sale each Friday so make sure you are signed up for our newsletter, because you won’t want to miss out!  Check out Week 1 Inspiration here and Week 2 Inspiration here.

This week you will find the Relaxed Peplum Collection and the Joyful Jumper Collection for 35% off for Friday December 7th only with the code found at the end of this post.  This code does not apply to our pattern bundles.  Each member of our team worked very hard on these inspirational makes so their affiliate links are posted under their pictures.  Mamma Can Do It uses affiliate links to give a percentage of each sale to our hard working team members.  Using these links costs you nothing extra.  So if you see a picture that inspires you or makes you smile and you want to thank them, use the link provided under their picture if you decide to take advantage of this sale.

I know for me the last couple weeks of the holiday sewing season feel like crunch time and it can be very stressful to get all the things on our to do list finished.  I often have to make myself take a step back and relax to appreciate this exciting and experience rich time of year.  As a Mom, it is so fun to see the holidays through a child’s eyes with my two boys.  Making them things that bring them joy is so fulfilling to me.  I also love finding that spare minute to make myself something special.  I hope you find that in your sewing this season as well.

The Relaxed Peplum is a knit pattern that comes in Girl (2T-16) and Women (00-20) sizes.  The Women’s pattern is a top and tunic with lots of options (full circle peplum, a half circle peplum, a gathered peplum, a curved hem peplum, or high/low hem peplum).  The Girl’s pattern is a top, tunic, and knee length dress with a full circle skirt or a gathered peplum (high/low hem and curved hem included).  You can read about all the variations, style tips, and fabric picks in our Lookbook post here.

The Relaxed Peplum has definitely become a favorite of our customers.  This is one of our newer patterns so it comes with layers for easy size printing, different file print formats (8.5×11″, A4, and copy shop A0), and as always a clear step-by-step picture tutorial.

My favorite fabrics for this pattern include double brushed polyester, cotton lycra, rayon french terry, liverpool, and stretch velvet.  See more inspiration below.

The Joyful Jumper

A sweet baby reversible Joyful Jumper made during testing last year. So adorable!

The Joyful Jumper is a woven fabric pattern and as such it is a great project for beginners.  You can make it with buttons or snaps (my favorite snaps are KAM snaps).  This is one of our newer patterns so it comes with layers for easy size printing, different file print formats (8.5×11″, A4, and copy shop A0), and as always a clear step-by-step picture tutorial.  The Joyful Jumper is also reversible which is great for kids and babies alike because if one side gets messy and you are on the go, you can just turn it to the other side and you have a whole new outfit!  The ruffle is optional, but it looks oh so sweet.  You can make it as a top (high/low hem included) or as a dress.  This pattern also has the option for pockets!  See more inspiration below.
